A resume is the single most important document of your professional career. It is your personal marketing tool that demonstrates your experiences, skills, and achievements. A powerful resume can help you position yourself competitively against other candidates and win job interviews.
The most effective way to create your resume is to schedule an in-office meeting. Prior to this meeting, you can either pick up a resume preparation packet or one will be mailed to you. During the meeting, this packet will be reviewed and additional information will be gathered as needed.
At the end of the meeting, we will schedule your return appointment at which time you can review your draft and make any necessary changes.
(Please note that we can provide services to you by phone, fax, mail or e-mail.)
Enhance the existing material on your resume with new/updated information, new wording and different format. This service requires the client to input fairly comprehensive existing data. (Cost varies if resume is saved on disk)
A resume is an essential tool for any job search, but it’s not the only tool. Your cover letter is equally important in creating a good first impression for a potential employer. Take some time to make your cover letter great and increase your chances of landing that job. This will be your introduction, sell yourself before they read your resume.
Don’t let “References Available Upon Request” be just another heading on your resume. Have a reference page ready to submit should it be necessary. Keep in mind you want to ask permission of those you will note on your page; you don’t want anyone getting surprised. Make sure you put someone who knows your skills and qualifications, who will say something good about you and help you get the position.
A thank-you letter is often a sales letter in disguise, so don’t be afraid to put some “sell” into it. Send warm thanks to anyone with whom you have had an interview. Even if you get the position it is always good to say “thank you”.
